Childrens & Community Health Center Moves to a New Facility

The Children and Community Health Center of McKinney (CCHC) has moved to a new suite of offices at the Westpark campus of the Medical Center of McKinney.  “This new space allows our clinic to function in a much more efficient manner, with office space for staff and larger, more comfortable treatment rooms,” said Sandy Dickey, CCHC’s executive director.  “Another advantage to this space is the private entrance for our patients and reception and counseling areas, where our admission activities can be conducted.”  Medical Center of McKinney has graciously leased this space to CCHC for $1 a year.

CCHC serves the uninsured and underserved population of McKinney and northern Collin County.  Established in August, 2004, CCHC has more than 1,600 patients.  The clinic is open Tuesday evenings for pediatric patients and Wednesday evenings for adult patients.  Recently, CCHC has added two daytime clinics, on Tuesdays and Fridays. CCHC also provides a diabetes clinic and women’s services clinic once every six weeks.

CCHC is staffed primarily by volunteer medical professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists and translators and administrative support.  The clinic is managed by a board that includes healthcare administrators, non-profit professionals, physicians, nurses, and other caring individuals.  For additional information about CCHC, please visit www.cchc-vim.org or e-mail us: info@cchc-vim.org.
